Verified Accounts

The blue Verified badge next to a name means the Snipp team has confirmed it's the genuine account of a notable person, brand, or creator. It helps you know you're looking at the real account and not someone pretending to be them.

What the badge means

  • •

The account belongs to who it says it does, and the Snipp team has confirmed it.

  • •

It's notable in gaming, content creation, tech, or another designated category, with an established presence on Snipp or elsewhere.

  • •

It isn't part of any plan. Plus and Ultra have their own Subscriber badge, and neither one includes Verified.

How accounts get verified

Verification is granted by the Snipp team, typically to public figures, brands, and creators with an established presence. It can't be bought, and an active and authentic profile helps your application.

Apply for verification

Tell us about yourself and share links to your work. You can apply once, and we'll email you when the team has decided.

You'll need a Snipp account

Applications are tied to your account, so the badge lands on the right profile.

Accepted applications come with Ultra, on us.

Losing the badge

The Snipp team can remove the Verified badge from any account at any time, for any reason, without notice. Reasons include, but aren't limited to:

  • •

Changing your username or display name.

  • •

Your account becoming inactive or incomplete.

  • •

No longer being notable for what you were verified for, and not otherwise meeting the bar for verification.

  • •

Changing your profile in a way that's misleading or turns it into a different persona.

  • •

Breaking the Terms of Service, manipulating Snipp, or trying to get around an enforcement action.

Extra protection

Verified accounts are among the most likely targets for account takeovers, so Advanced Account Protection is always on for them and can't be turned off.

Spotting impersonators

Only the Snipp team can add the badge, so a checkmark in someone's name, bio, avatar, or banner doesn't count. The real badge sits right after the name and shows a short explanation when you click it. If an account is pretending to be someone else, report it from the menu on their profile.
